Rodri and Santamaría settled it in the first half to give Intercity the three points in what was Moscardó's last match in Segunda Federación. One chapter closes; the next is already being written.

SANT JOAN D'ALACANT, ALICANTE – With relegation already confirmed and the season settled in the table, Colonia Moscardó made the last trip of the campaign on Sunday. Destination: Sant Joan d'Alacant, where CF Intercity awaited them at the Campo Municipal Antonio Solana. The result, a cold 2-0, cannot overshadow what this year has meant for the Usera club. Because this season Moscardó have played against the reserve sides of Real Madrid, Getafe and Rayo Vallecano, won at difficult grounds and given their people moments of genuine joy. No scoreline can erase that.

A first half that decided everything

Intercity, ninth in the final table with 43 points, came out to close their season with a home win and achieved it quickly and efficiently. Rodri opened the scoring in the 15th minute, taking advantage of a defensive lapse by the visitors, and Santamaría settled it in the 40th minute before the break, leaving the match decided with barely half an hour played. Two blows in the first half that made it an uphill battle in a game where Moscardó had no margin for error.

The second half, heart and soul

Despite the scoreline, the red and whites came out of the dressing room with pride and without giving up. It was no time to surrender: it never had been this season and it was not going to be in the last match. Moscardó went looking for a consolation goal, competed and left on the Alicante pitch what has been their trademark all season: commitment, attitude and the neighbourhood's crest held high. The 2-0 held until the final whistle, but the team left the pitch with their heads held high.

This Segunda Federación season ends in relegation, yes. But it also ends with memorable wins against Getafe B and Orihuela. With a team that never gave up.
